I'm interested in crewing on either a multihull
or a classic boat (wood or glass), any rig (though I'm especially
interested in schooners, cutters, ketches & yawls).
I'm middle aged, have sailed 40 years on dinks to 115'loa schooners,
nearly all types (no Dutch botter yachts yet, darn it), most rigs
(except square), taught at the Offshore Sailing School (when based on
City Island)& with the CG Auxilliary. I've owned a few trimarans, raced
on monohulls & multihulls, cruised on both. Been a yacht club member
too. My wife and I once sailed up the East River at night from the upper
NY Bay out to Oyster Bay when the motor in our 31' tri quit. We've
sailed on & off moorings, up to and off docks, mostly w/o a motor as
well.
My experience includes sailing the intracoastal
to Miami, with a few offshore stints, sailing in Maine every year, lived
and sailed on the west coast as well (San Francisco Bay & the LA areas).
Have also done occasional deliveries up/down the east coast (not long
distance generally).
I'm calm, 6' tall, a bit bald, can help show
newbies the ropes if needed, have a decent sense of humor (I'm a sailor,
right?), and would also be interested in crewing evening or weekends.
Worked in naval architecture way back, now in association management.
I live on Long Island, Nassau Cty, near the
south shore. Work in Jersey City.
If interested, contact me at

I would be available to crew on a boat. I have
little to no sailing experience, other than I like it and would like to
participate in this event. I know this is work but I am willing. If
someone is short crew, I can fill in.
I know - not a great resume' but if you are short , I can help.
